Well my last National Jr High School Rodeo Finals is in the book and I’ll be competing at the High School level next year. It was held in Lebanon, TN and I qualified in the Breakaway Roping, Goat Tying, and Ribbon Roping. Next year, if I qualify, I get to travel to Gillette, Wyoming…WOW!

Let’s just say it was a wet and muddy one! It rained a lot! So much, I had to duct tape my boots on for two events that required me to run in the arena.

I had a lot of fun with old friends and the new ones I made.

Nationals is a great experience and an honor to be a part of. Only the top 4 in each event from their state qualifies to compete at Nationals.

There are over 1,000 contestants from all 48 states and provinces. I mean I’m competing agains kids from Australia and Hawaii to name a few!

I’m very thankful that my parents made it possible for me to first have the opportunity to qualify and second, haul me and my horses to TN and make it possible to compete at Nationals.

It is good family and my Dad thoroughly enjoyed buzzing around on the golf cart all week! Let’s just say his was the fastest there…shocker!

While I didn’t have the runs I hoped for and I know I’m capable of, guess the nerves won this time. Ill take the moments, like all, and learn from them to come back stronger and be thankful for each day I get to do what I love.
