Storage, storage, storage! There’s never enough storage in a home! The best part about natural decorations is that you can toss them out at the end of the season! No storage needed and the little outside creatures can re-purpose them!

There’s so much you can do with pine cones this time of year. Sprinkle them on a table or put them in a wreath. Make them sparkle…endless possibilities! The pine cones in Virginia at my childhood home are absolutely gorgeous!

Deer sheds are a given for home decor throughout the year. But it adds instant rustic charm to any holiday season!

And cattails! I LOVE cattails!! That are so bulky and an easy way to fill a flower arrangement!

Christmas cards from family and friends make me smile, but I could never find a good way to display them all! So I made this display hanger from a neat branch with vine growing around it that I found in the woods. I added some jute string, spruced it up with pine cones and greenery and WALA!!! I have a card holder! This one I wont throw away…guess i will have to find that storage after all!

When it’s all said and done, the best part about making your own decorations, is just finding them. The walks in the woods, smelling the fresh, brisk, cool air while taking in the nature all around. It really is the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

Until next time,
